About the restaurant

With an anticipated visit to Fishtown, we made sure to schedule a beverage pop-in to Sacred Vice which we’ve had our eye on for a while but the stars never aligned until tonight. We didn’t know a whole lot going in other than the fact that these guys have been servicing the Fishtown area with good beers for a few years now. Last year (2024) they moved into their new facility to combine the brewery and add a taproom.

The space is a combination of sterile and homey. The bar area clean and new and a lounge area that give off 1970’s at Grandma’s house vibes. Suffice it to say that’s right up our alley. If we lived in the neighborhood, it would be a place we would be happy to hang regularly.

The beers! With 4 of us in attendance, we opted for a variety to share. ¡En La Mía! a Winter Lager. Nelson’s Melodies, a west coast IPA. Rythmic Dread Vienna Lager, Buried Motives Stout, Verdant Plume IPA #2, Softy Saison, Crippled Affection Pale Ale and Rubbish IPA. While personal preference dictated our favorites, all were deemed well above average.

Highly recommend this spot. Certainly the atmosphere is clean, comfortable and familiar. I like the lounge room feel. The beer is the highlight. Good selection but also very good quality particularly along my favorite IPA category.
