About the restaurant
The third installment of the Garage locations recently opened at the old Fox & Hound spot in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. It’s been a few years since F&H closed so it’s great to see some activity happening there, and of course next door with Cellar Dog where the old Howl at the Moon was.
We went on their first week (they actually opened on Superbowl Sunday!) but it looked pretty well set. The layout was pretty similar to Fox…a great bar area, party tables and booths but with pool tables and skee ball machines, hub cabs adorning the walls, what looked like a Pontiac grill above the door and while no garage doors like their other locations, they are appropriately located beneath an actual parking garage.
Definitely a solid beer selection with drafts and cans. The food is quintessential bar food much like their other spots so we grabbed wings, the garage burger and onion rings to sample. We got the buffalo which was a little disappointing, I think we should’ve tried a different style. Burger and onion Rings were solid.
The space is comfortable and fun. Definitely good for larger groups as well. Crowd was mixed but tended on the younger side. We see this location doing quite well.
